Megan L. Cerezo-McManus
SPOTLIGHT AWARD
Megan L. Cerezo-McManus is a mission-driven professional with over ten years of experience in non-profit event management, hospitality management, project management, relationship building, and fundraising. As the Event Specialist for the Office of Institutional Advancement at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, Megan develops strategic events that create deeply moving and impactful experiences that steward and cultivate transformational relationships for the college.
Throughout her career, Megan has produced a variety of events from concept to completion, ranging from intimate cultivation affairs to large-scale conferences across in-person, hybrid, and virtual settings. She believes that events play an integral role in storytelling, showcasing impact, and creating bold spaces that allow for dynamic conversations with thought leaders and changemakers.
Megan has worked at organizations that have provided her with the opportunity to make a difference through her work by addressing issues such as childhood cancer, intellectual and developmental disabilities, diversity, equity and inclusion, and social justice initiatives. She is a member of the Diversity & Inclusion Committee at John Jay College, a board fellow at Dance Lab New York, a steering committee member for the WOC Literary Society, and a 2021 graduate of the inaugural WOC Radiant leadership Institute.
Megan has a Bachelor of Arts in English from Fordham University and is currently pursuing her Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Management and Operations and Human Resources at John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
During her spare time, Megan enjoys wine tasting, cooking, and exploring different cuisines, listening to music, reading books, and spending time with friends and family. Megan is from Yonkers, New York, and lives with her husband, Michael, and their beloved dog, Oreo.
