Description

We are seeking an experienced grant writer with a strong background in advocacy, criminal justice reform, and social and environmental justice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for researching, writing, and submitting compelling grant proposals to secure funding for our clients. This role requires a deep understanding of the issues our clients address and the ability to communicate their impact effectively to funders. Please note this is a part-time contract position. Hours and projects will vary.

Responsibilities

Grant Research and Identification

  • Identify and research potential grant opportunities that align with our client’s missions and goals.

Proposal Development

  • Write and develop high-quality grant proposals, letters of intent, and supporting documents tailored to each funding opportunity.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with clients to gather necessary information, understand their programs, and articulate their needs and impact in grant applications.

Grant Management

  • Track and manage the grant application process, including deadlines, submissions, and reporting requirements.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a grant writer, with a focus on criminal justice reform, advocacy, or social and environmental justice.

  • Strong research and analytical skills to identify and pursue suitable funding opportunities.

  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to craft compelling narratives.

  • Knowledge of the nonprofit sector and the specific challenges faced by organizations working in these fields.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

  • Familiarity with grant management software and tools is a plus.

Salary Range and Employee Benefits

$60-$75.00/hour, depending on experience.
