Description
The Senior Director of Development & Marketing Services is a senior executive position reporting to the Chief Executive Office, responsible for the Society’s Development and Marketing Department. This position provides leadership, direction, management, and implementation of the development and fundraising function and programs for SNMMI, generating new revenue and maintaining support for ongoing operations. Aligning with the Society’s strategic plan and value initiative, the Senior Director translates broad goals into achievable steps, sets and manages appropriate expectations, and handles detailed, complex concepts and issues. The Senior Director also oversees the marketing activities for the organization, ensuring a comprehensive and cohesive marketing program is maintained and executed.
Responsibilities
Aligns SNMMI with the Value Initiative through integrated planning and management of revenue generation and marketing.
Secures annual unrestricted and restricted support through gifts from corporations, grants, charitable foundations, and individuals.
Works closely with the Board and executive leadership of SNMMI to develop, implement and evaluate annual and long-range fundraising plans to realize the organization’s strategic goals.
Establishes and implements administrative policies and procedures for all development and fundraising functions in accordance with SNMMI guidelines and professional fundraising principles.
Oversees corporate exhibits/sponsorship support of SNMMI events, initiatives, and campaigns.
Supervises exposition management for the annual meeting (AM) and mid-winter meeting (MWM).
Manages and oversees donor and gift database management.
Manages and implements donor cultivation and stewardess activities.
Works closely with the communication teams to drive advertising sales operations and manages the advertising sales partner firm contract.
Oversees the marketing team, ensuring the development and implementation of comprehensive marketing plans for all Society programs while aligning with the strategic plan and value initiative.
Directs and manages publication production, subscriptions, reprint sales, and fulfillment.
Determines, forecasts, and monitors Development budget allocations required to meet organizational strategic objectives.
Oversees marketing budget, developed by the Director of Marketing, and ensures the management and execution of the budget.
Oversees the management of the Development and Marketing staff, workflows, projects and procedures to ensure timely and accurate roll-out of processes and programs utilizing collaborative and consensus-building management techniques to lead departmental and cross-departmental projects.
Ensures assigned staff receive training, professional development, mentorship and performance evaluation to maximize potential and investment and create a team-oriented environment.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred. CFRE is highly desired.
Minimum of 8 years of successful fundraising with corporate and individual major gifts fundraising, and annual fund management.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
In-depth knowledge of fundraising practices and principles including annual giving, securing grant and sponsorship support from corporations and foundations, special events, fundraising and donor stewardship and gift acknowledgments is required.
Experience in strategic planning and strong analytic skills is required.
Must understand regulations associated with physician-directed philanthropic support by pharmaceutical firms and regulations pertaining to support for Continuing Education or Continuing Medical Education offerings to physicians.
Capacity to identify, implement, monitor and execute work plans for all assigned activities: goals & objectives; work plan & deadline schedules; assignment of responsibilities; reporting and evaluation is required.
Leadership capability to exercise administrative responsibility is required.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate relationships and cooperate successfully with other organizational units and members to achieve organization objectives is required.
Determination of and adherence to deadlines is required.
Allocation of resources, direction and delegation skills is required.
Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously is required.
Experienced in successful fundraising initiatives within an association environment highly desirable.
Demonstrated ability to direct and analyze sophisticated statistical marketing models and instruments is highly desirable.
Travel Requirements - This position requires some travel. You should expect overnight stays of up to 5-7 nights at the site of the organization’s AM or MWM. Other travel may also be required. - Represents SNMMI at events, corporate and donor meetings, status reviews and other meetings as required.
Training Requirements - Knowledge of OSR the SNMMMI budgeting software tool, this includes learning how to access, track and revise al budgets under the management of Senior Director. - Knowledge of the iMIS Fundraising Module. - Knowledge of CMS. - Physical Demands - Professional Office Environment
Salary Range and Employee Benefits
$175,000.00
