The Program Manager, Principal Gifts, is a member of the Principal Gifts team which partners closely with Fred Hutch President and Director and Chief Fundraiser, Tom Lynch, and other institutional leaders, to raise gifts of $5 million or more. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Principal Gifts, the Program Manager, Principal Gifts, is responsible for the management, planning, production, and delivery of program priorities for the team.

The Program Manager, Principal Gifts, provides a high-level of management for complex philanthropic gifts to Fred Hutch and serves as the liaison between key stakeholders including donors, prospective donors, and senior leadership team. This role requires the highest level and ability to handle and respect confidential information. Some travel and weekend and evening work will be required. This role will have the opportunity to work partially at our campus and remotely.

Responsibilities

  • Manage gift agreement process with key stakeholders including donor representatives and internal teams such as Finance and Gift and Estate Management team to create, prepare, and/or edit gift agreements, letters of intent, letters of understanding, and other documentation to support acceptance of often complex gifts.

  • Initiate and lead gift review process ensuring accuracy and high-touch gift acknowledgement, coordinating with multiple stakeholders.

  • Build and manage relationships with key internal stakeholders, including Director’s Office, faculty, and leadership volunteers to coordinate visits, meetings, and calls with donors and prospective donors; prep agendas and coordinate logistics, as needed.

  • Prepare and manage holistic experience for donor visits and faculty meetings; provide administrative support including meeting reservations; budget preparation, tracking, and reconciliation; and data entry in RENXT.

  • Identify, manage, facilitate donor opportunities with Prospect Management and Research, Stewardship, and other members of Gifts and Grants teams.

  • Implement and manage all aspects and logistics of assigned projects from concept to completion.

  • Build strategic and collegial partnerships to problem-solve and strengthen programs.

  • Manage engagement and strategic growth of internal and/or external stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with Philanthropy leaders and partners teams to develop innovative strategies and clear goals and implement programs/projects that deliver on those goals.

  • Collaborate with partner teams and programs to produce deliverables.

  • Document and maintain records for historical reference and analysis.

  • Establish and improve, and/or update procedures and processes.

  • Serve as an individual contributor.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

  • Three years related experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in non-profit environment

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication

  • Strong attention to high level of detail and quality of work - Highly developed organization and project management skills

  • Ability to take initiative, build relationships, and work collaboratively within a complex department and organization

  • Campaign experience

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and RENXT

Salary Range and Employee Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is from $72,946 to $109,408, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
