Description

The Manager, Annual Giving reports to the Director of Annual Giving and Development and will manage Corus' monthly giving and core donor programs. S/he is a member of the cross-organizational fundraising team and fosters meaningful relationships to increase donor engagement and giving through the direct response fundraising program. In partnership and collaboration with the Director, s/he will develop and execute other key fundraising initiatives. The Manager, Annual Giving will practice high emotional intelligence and expertise to ensure donors feel valued and appreciated.

Responsibilities

Donor Engagement

  • Using a data-informed approach, identify and cultivate core donor groups within the Lutheran World Relief active donor file by executing effective donor journeys, donor upgrades and special appeals within an Ask-Thank-Report fundraising cycle structure.

  • Cultivate, nurture and manage positive relationships with individual donors within core donor groups.

  • Manage third-party giving strategies and relationships including workplace giving, combined federal campaigns and fraternal organizations. Ensure key donor relationships are cultivated and all advocates within these programs are equipped with the relevant and inspiring offers that will inspire giving from donors in their respective campaigns.

  • Manage stewardship communications and implement customized touch points with monthly donors and other core donor groups, personalized mailings, thank you touch points, Faithful Neighbor magazine, other newsletters (print and digital), telephone, and in-person events.

  • Craft and host events (virtual and in-person) that inspire the continued support of the monthly sustainer audience.

Program Development & Implementation

  • Manage implementation and execution of the multi-channel Gifts of Love alternative giving catalog including direct mail, eCommerce website, email, and digital marketing with a focus on growth and donor engagement.

  • Manage the established multi-year strategy, development and implementation of efforts for expanding the brand's core donor base with the overall goal of identifying new donors and crafting engagement experiences to move them up the giving pyramid through a forward thinking, growth-oriented, donor-focused process.

  • Align direct marketing and digital fundraising sustainer programs to create integrated sustainer strategies and tactics across all channels including direct mail, telemarketing, email, digital marketing, and social media.

  • Develop and manage pilot campaigns and testing strategy for new initiatives to determine their potential and ROI.

  • Research, identify and implement cutting-edge channels and strategies to optimize underutilized opportunities to support annual and five-year acquisition and sustainer goals.

  • Work collaboratively with internal and external partners for program implementation including Development, Donor Relations, Digital, Marketing and outside vendor partners.

Documentation, Reporting & Data Management

  • Track and report on acquisition, conversion, and monthly giving through KPIs including, retention, average gift, upgrades, and additional giving.

  • Collaborate with the Fundraising Operations team in analysis that optimizes acquisition, retention and lifetime value.

  • Analyze and report progress to goals and effectiveness of specific campaigns, tactics and vendor performance.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and five years professional work experience; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience must include working in a fundraising capacity for a nonprofit organization.

  • Strong understanding of fundraising practices and ethics.

  • Experience and/or ability in developing, monitoring and optimizing reporting that drives an increased return on investment for a fundraising program needed. Well-developed collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.

  • Demonstrated ability of leading projects that involve multiple departments, consultants, and vendors.

  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and goals, communicate with precision and clarity, motivate others and enlist them to meet goals.

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to make data-driven decisions-to design and adapt solutions in response to new data. Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to think strategically.

  • Exceptional attention to detail. Strong computer skills and high proficiency with databases and software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Success growing a donor base through well established and emerging channels highly desired.

Salary Range and Employee Benefits

Salary Range: $68,000 - $85,000 - $102,000
