Description

Director of Development & Engagement Leadership Greater Washington (LGW), the DC region’s premier leadership incubator, seeks a strategic leader to drive fundraising, membership engagement, and communications. This role generates 60% of LGW’s $1.7M revenue through fundraising strategies, including the Celebration of Leadership gala, corporate sponsorships, grants, and giving campaigns.

The Director also oversees member services, renewal campaigns, and communications, fostering meaningful connections within LGW’s 2,000-member network of senior leaders. This position reports to the President & CEO and supervises the Communications Manager and Member Services Coordinator.

Responsibilities

Fundraising & Development

Develop and execute fundraising strategies to support annual budget goals. Manage donor relationships, corporate sponsorships, grants, and giving campaigns. Lead the annual gala fundraising committee and corporate sponsorship outreach. Oversee legacy giving program and expand donor engagement efforts.

Donor & Member Engagement

Develop creative campaigns to engage members, sponsors, and major donors. Enhance sponsorship benefits and increase donor retention. Expand LGW’s influence by attending networking and community events.

Operations & Communications

Maintain donor CRM (EveryAction) and oversee gift processing and acknowledgments.

Supervise Communications

Manager to execute social media and marketing strategies. Oversee Member Services Coordinator to enhance membership renewal and engagement.

Events & Programs

Collaborate with Events & Programs Manager to execute the annual gala. Provide support for LGW programs, events, and member initiatives.

Requirements

Skills & Experience

  • Proven nonprofit fundraising experience with a track record in corporate sponsorships, individual giving, and membership campaigns.

  • Strong written communication skills for proposals and donor engagement. Experience supervising staff and working with a Board of Directors.

  • Highly organized, tech-savvy, and adept at project management. Background in membership-based organizations is a plus.

Salary Range and Employee Benefits

$110,000 - $120,000 annually
