Reporting to the Managing Director of Development, the Director of Development, Anniversary Campaign Lead (“Anniversary Campaign Lead” or “ACL”) will play a critical role in overseeing Year Up’s 25th Anniversary fundraising activity specifically focused on the 25th Anniversary Gala event in October, 2025.

The Anniversary Campaign Lead will play a part in the strategy creation, planning process, and implementation of a campaign designed to raise millions of dollars from primarily individuals and companies, and other supporters at this unique moment in our organizational history. In this role, you will work across internal business units at Year Up including our fundraising staff, the events team, marketing, and also externally with campaign committee members and other stakeholders to achieve the goals of the campaign. Strong candidates will bring significant expertise in event management, project management, direct fundraising, overseeing revenue-generating events, or similar transferable experiences.

While most fundraising for the campaign will be executed by existing fundraisers on the Development team, the ACL may be soliciting select gifts as directed by the Managing Director.  The ACL will drive accountability for activity across the team and coordinating all efforts to achieve revenue targets for the 25th anniversary campaign.

Responsibilities

Anniversary Campaign and Event Project Management

  • In conjunction with Managing Director and Year Up National Events Team, develop project plan, milestones, prospect lists and fundraising goals for 25th Anniversary Campaign

  • Manage development of Campaign Committee made up of lead donors and connectors nationwide; lead recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing communications processes with this group in close concert with Year Up solicitors and leaders to support campaign activities toward goals

  • Organize and track external activity for the CEO, Founder/Senior Advisor and Board members or lead donors related to the 25th Anniversary

  • Create documents or communications pieces as needed to help achieve goals of campaign.

  • Liaise closely with relationship managers, marketing, internal events team, or external parties to ensure excellent experience for all stakeholders involved in campaign

  • Work with the Revenue Operations team to develop revenue tracking and dashboards for campaign fundraising

  • Oversee sponsorship solicitations for 25th Anniversary event and manage table assignments and sponsorship benefits for all sponsors (individuals and corporate)

  • In conjunction with Research and Pipeline Development colleagues, develop and/or manage prospect lists and potential donors to campaign.

  • Run internal meetings related to the Anniversary Campaign and prepare monthly reports for leaders; report out to larger organization or Development team On an ongoing cadence.

  • Surface and disseminate best practices related to campaign fundraising activity in the field.

  • Work with donor engagement team to send acknowledgments and ensure excellent stewardship of 25th Anniversary donors. Other activities related to the Anniversary Campaign as needed.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional work experience preferred

  • Excellent communications skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external groups

  • Knowledge of fundraising best practices, including solicitation strategies and donor stewardship

  • Familiarity with marketing strategies, particularly related to large-scale fundraising campaigns

  • Project management tactical expertise or familiarity with methodologies

  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple aspects of a project with competing deadlines

  • Ability to work with all levels of stakeholders from senior leadership to local staff

Salary Range and Employee Benefits

Salary Range - $105,000 - $110,000

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • Year Up has established salary ranges for each of our sites, which allows us to pay employees competitively, equitably and consistently in different geographic markets. For roles in which the location is listed as flexible, the range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Salary offers take into account a candidate’s skills, experience, and location. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process.

  • Vacation: Earn three weeks paid vacation in first year of employment; four weeks after initial year.
