Bely Luu
Bely (pronounced “Bailey”) is currently the Associate Director of School Development at Washington State Charter Schools Association (WA Charters). She helps schools build capacity around fundraising through training, coaching, and technical assistance. Prior to joining WA Charters, Bely served as the Associate Director of Events at Virginia Mason Foundation. She spent almost a decade at the University of Washington working for the Evans School of Public Policy & Governance, the College of Education, and the School of Medicine Center for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, serving in fundraising, events, and student support roles dedicated to advancing opportunities and access for systemically underserved students. Previously, Bely served as the Development Officer at the International Examiner, a nonprofit newspaper focused on preserving and amplifying voices of the Asian Pacific American community.
She served on the Seattle Steering Committee for the Nisei Student Relocation Commemorative Fund to outreach, select, and award scholarships to Southeast Asian high school seniors in Washington State.
Bely holds a B.A. in Social Work from the University of Washington. In her free time, she enjoys baking with her daughter, supporting BIPOC-owned restaurants, and traveling with her family.
