Description
Are you someone who is passionate about finding new and better ways to deliver research and prospect management services? Do you enjoy nurturing relationships with end-users? As Research Consultant and Director you will help mission-driven organizations of all sizes and types raise more funding through major and transformative gifts. This role has the opportunity for growth into leadership.
Responsibilities
Communicate with and nurture clients.
Provide “wow!” customer services that starts with “yes” or “maybe” or “let me explore what’s possible.”
Set up research projects, including prospect management consulting, prospecting, profiles, and other research services as they arise.
Fulfill research consulting and services and/or manage employees and contractors to fulfill the work.
Deliver work to clients and provide follow-up services as needed.
Maintain documentation of policy, processes, research approach, templates, tools, and anything else related to the services Aspire provides.
Continuously explore new tools and techniques and make recommendations.
As part of a small business, support other areas such as public speaking, marketing, and creation of educational content as needed.
Requirements

You know how to approach research and are confident in your skills as well as the team’s skills. This keeps you grounded and listening when clients question the work or describe different ideas or needs.
You obsess over questions such as: Does the client have the information needed to be successful? Is the service the best it can be? Is our work process both superior and profitable?
You are able to toggle between the big picture (answering the question/fulfilling the purpose) and the details (how to find and present).
In this role you are leading, not following.
You identify problems, obstacles, successes, and opportunities – and take action.
You build confidence in the team’s work by identifying and highlighting strengths so that the whole team can benefit from each individual’s “superpowers.”
You correct and coach the team to deliver superior work.

Qualifications and Experience
5 to 10 years of experience preferred.
Experience identifying and researching ultra and high net worth individuals.
Prospect management experience with major gift teams.
Experience managing other employees strongly preferred.
Demonstrate characteristics such as strong curiosity, attention to detail, creativity, and a constant striving to do things better, faster, and cheaper.
Minimum education of High School degree or equivalent; some higher education preferred.
Eager to learn and work in CRM database, Teams, and a laundry list of other software
Balance working independently to solve problems with the discretion to know when to ask for help.
Excellent MS Office knowledge and skills.
Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
Outstanding customer service skills.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Discretion and confidentiality.
Thrive in an intense, do-it-yourself, start-up environment.
Work well as part of a virtual team, communicating effectively via multiple channels, including Teams and Zoom online video meeting software.
Enthusiasm for life-long learning and skill-building.
Work Environment
This position is fully remote and Aspire is a virtual company.
Position requires ability to work in a stationary position for majority of workday.
Continuous use of computer.
Frequent communication with team via Teams.
This is an exempt position that requires at least 40 hour of work per week but due to the nature of this role, additional hours may be required when deadlines need to be met

Salary Range and Employee Benefits
$65,000 - $80,000
Paid holidays and paid time off.
