Description
The Manager, Event & Donor Communications will play an important role as a member of the Development & Events Department, serving as the lead project manager on event and stewardship related materials and collaborating across BCRF on donor-facing publications, communications, and mailings.
The individual in this role will work closely with a dynamic team of development, marketing and communications professionals, and experience first-hand the inner workings of a premier nonprofit organization. This position is based in New York, New York. BCRF currently requires staff to work onsite a minimum of three days per week.
Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Serve as project manager for:
Event materials and communications
Oversee creation, editing, and production of printed materials including but not limited to event save the dates, invitations, programs, signage, on-site fundraising collateral, raffle/auction materials, and menu cards
Serve as point of contact for graphic designers, printers, mail houses, and vendors
Maintain print and design timelines for all physical and electronic pieces
Work in close partnership with the Marketing and Communications team to align on key messaging, timelines, brand identity and more
Secure necessary approvals throughout the process
Electronic event communications
Maintain electronic communications calendar Update and maintain event websites
Manage and maintain event email distribution lists
Develop and execute event eblasts and communications
Work in close partnership with Marketing and Communications team to ensure streamlined coordination on both process and execution
Secure necessary approvals throughout the process
Advance stewardship and donor recognition through:
BCRF Publications:
Work closely with Marketing and Communications team on the production of the Pink Press, BCRF’s biannual newsletter and Annual Report, as well as highly visible donor recognition opportunities, ensuring accuracy and a donor-centric approach
Manage donor mailings for each publication and create personalized, high-touch communications to major gift donors
Create donor listings and ensure accuracy in all publications
Secure necessary approvals throughout the process
Donor Stewardship Reports for Annual Research Grants
Work closely with BCRF Research team to prepare stewardship reports to donors supporting a BCRF-funded investigator, ensuring that communications are clear and tailored to each donor
Serve as project lead for stewardship report tracking and timeline
Work collaboratively with colleagues in Marketing and Communications to ensure consistency with BCRF brand guidelines and style guide, coordinated timelines, synergistic communications, streamlined processes and complementary collateral.
Work with the Development and Marketing and Communications teams to conceptualize and implement new ideas related to event communications including design themes, concepts, and opportunities.
Assume other duties as assigned, including on-site support at events.
Requirements
You possess excellent project management skills with the ability to execute projects from start to finish on time. You are flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to assist and collaborate with all BCRF teammates. You have a passion for the mission and work of BCRF.
In addition, you meet the following requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum of four years of development and/or communications experience
Project Management experience
Ability to successfully work on multiple tasks and projects, and to set and meet priorities
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience with Raiser’s Edge is strongly preferred
Highly skilled in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe; proficiency in InDesign and Canva preferred.
Salary Range and Employee Benefits
The salary range for this position is $70,000 – $80,000 annually, along with an exceptional benefits package focusing on employee physical, financial, and mental wellness. This is a full-time exempt position. There will be the occasional need to work extra hours evenings and weekends to fulfill the requirements of the role.
