Description

Resolution and Enactus seek to hire a Development Director, Institutional Giving (“Director”) as a frontline fundraiser and a key member of the Resolution and Enactus team. The Director will participate in leadership and strategy efforts to meet the organization’s annual revenue goals ($6.9MM for FY 2024-2025) and grow its revenue potential to support greater impact for years to come. This individual will report to and work closely with the CEO to design fundraising approaches and deploy the CEO and Board for maximum effectiveness. The Director will manage a portfolio of existing corporate and foundation relationships; work to re-engage lapsed partners; and identify, cultivate, solicit and steward new foundation and corporate donors.

This individual will also participate in expanding and advancing existing department systems, staff, and practices to support scaling efforts. The organization has a strong set of highly engaged advisors in place( e.g., on the Board of Directors and Advisory Board with whom the Director will partner to cultivate, solicit, and steward partners. The Director will partner with the Programs and Development teams to identify sponsorship opportunities at various events, and to secure sponsors. The Director will join an Assistant Director, an Associate and a Coordinator on the Development team and there are plans to hire at least one more Development colleague within the next year.

The position requires a passionate, detail-oriented, hard-working individual who can participate in strategy conversations, execute on planned activities, and build deep and lasting relationships with partners and team members. The successful candidate will have a proven and verifiable track record of success in front-line fundraising and will bring the ability to expand on the existing donor base. The candidate must have a flexible schedule and be prepared to join meetings and conference calls earlier and later than regular business hours – including some weekends. They must be willing and able to travel both domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

Fundraising Strategy

Work with the CEO to design, execute, manage, and evaluate an institutional fundraising strategy that allows the two organizations to grow and increase their impact. Develop and deepen relationships with foundation and corporate prospects and partners, and expand network of institutional donors. In collaboration with the Director of Communications and CEO, contribute to the organization’s fundraising communications strategy, most notably around messaging and communication targeting institutions.

Direct Fundraising

Manage and expand a portfolio of institutional donors and prospects, leading face-to-face solicitations and other direct engagement, and deploying the CEO to participate in or lead solicitations where appropriate. Proactively develop goals and strategies and cultivation, solicitation and stewardship plans for each partner, ensuring that each one receives personalized engagement, with the support of the rest of the Development team. Oversee messaging, talking points, proposals, and materials for development activity created by the Development and Communications teams. Supervise staff members conducting prospect research, donor outreach, Salesforce data management, and creation of fundraising activity reports. Secure and steward event sponsors.

Leadership

Help supervise, mentor, and support the other members of the Development team Manage Development Department budget and provide goals and projections to inform the annual budgeting process. Participate in Board meetings (when invited) and work with Board members to assist with fundraising objectives.

Represent

Resolution and Enactus at relevant conferences, events, and meetings. Participate in organization-wide strategy discussions. Foster a collaborative environment and manage cross-organizational relationships. Lead on special projects as determined by opportunity and need. Other duties as required.

Requirements

The ideal candidate has at least 7 years of demonstrated fundraising experience and successful solicitations with progressively increasing responsibility.

  • Experience building and growing a major institutional giving program with demonstrated success in revenue growth

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with many constituencies, including board members, corporate partners, donors who are volunteers, family offices and foundations, institutional funders, and ultra-high net worth prospects

  • Strong network within the philanthropic community

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with vigilant attention to detail and demonstrated ability to meet high-quality standards

  • Computer literacy, including extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite Experience with donor database software (Salesforce preferred, but training is available)

  • Commitment to the principles of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Access, and Learning (outlined in our DEI statement)

  • Preferred Experience managing a team and administering a department

  • Experience in the social entrepreneurship space and an understanding of the major funders Experience working internationally

Salary Range and Employee Benefits

$105,000 - $115,000
