The Heller Fundraising Group builds abundance for nonprofits through customized consulting and training for successful capital campaigns, insightful feasibility studies, and prosperous major gift programs.

Our growing team of 5 and 20 collaborating consultants advise our nonprofit partners on powerful fundraising strategies. About the Position

Reporting to the Consulting Services Director, the Consulting Associate will provide key support to senior consultants and clients through a variety of tasks that include documentation, research, scheduling, and client engagement. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in fundraising consulting while contributing to impactful projects that advance nonprofit missions. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to manage multiple priorities, an interest in nonprofit fundraising, and an aptitude for clear communication and research.

Starting salary of $65,000 - $80,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Location

The position will be primarily remote. We are, however, committed to in-person meetings throughout the year and meeting in-person with clients when possible.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including dashboards, timelines, and briefings for client and internal use.

  • Conduct comprehensive prospect research to inform client strategies and campaigns, using DonorSearch and other tools. Schedule meetings, coordinate agendas, and handle follow-up communications for client and prospect interactions.

  • Support the development of reports and presentations for clients, ensuring content is clear and aligned with client goals.

  • Perform industry research to support consulting engagements and inform best practices.

  • Conduct interviews with key stakeholders to gather insights for client projects and campaigns.

  • Provide general administrative support as needed, including data entry and document management. Other tasks as designated by senior staff and client needs.


Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote environment. Experience or interest in the nonprofit sector, particularly in fundraising, is preferred.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and familiarity with relational databases and business management software. A self-starter who is proactive and capable of adapting to new challenges.

  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
