Replenish Your Radiance with Our New Summer-Scented Candle

We’ve been teasing a surprise release all month and it’s finally here- our Radiant candle.

Our Radiant candle is an elegant accent for your desk, shelf, coffee table, or wherever you have a flat surface (safely, of course). We partnered with a woman artisan of color to to develop a candle that embodies the spirit of the WOC woman- independent, tranquility and inspirational. With its blend of almond, coconut milk and mango, it’s summer in the comforts of your home.

I can tell you that as a candle connoisseur, WOC’s Radiant candle is superb and is already one of my favorites. We chose the rose gold because of its elegance, and the fragrance fills the room yet is not overpowering — it’s just right.

Made from a paraffin and soy wax blend, every candle is hand poured in New York City. We chose to partner with a local artisan because we believe in supporting our local economy. By supporting our local economy, we are empowering communities of color and women entrepreneurs of color which in turn, furthers communal growth, transformation and the philanthropic cycle.

With our commitment to social impact, 10% of total sales will be given to the Foundation for Post Conflict Development and Water Mission.

So why a candle?

Our Founder, Yolanda, lights candles to transition from the end of a work day to her personal time, helping her maintain work-life balance. When the wick catches the flame and aromas fill the room, it is Yolanda’s signal to conclude her work day.

As part of my personal self-care ritual, I try to create a boundary between daytime/work and evening by lighting a few strategically placed candles around my home. The WOC Radiant candle is the perfect sensory tool to transition from day to night and relax at home with the scents of summer.

Too often, we are expected to continue to give and to work without stopping until we are drained, if not, depleted and burnout.

Our candle is a reminder to practice self-care and nurture our minds as well as our bodies.

We know that self-care does not begin and end with lighting a candle but that it is a practice that we, as women of color, must make time to do on a daily basis for our long-term well-beings. Self-care is intentional and ongoing. It is self-reflection and healing. Self-care is a necessary process to replenish our radiance.

May we all continue to shine with all our brilliance, with our cups filled first.
