Views from the C-Suite brings trail-blazing women of color from a variety of industries together with WOC members for conversations designed to offer perspective and inspire you professionally and personally.

We inaugurate the series with National Emmy® Award-winning senior television producer Marquita Pool-Eckert who will share her professional journey, recounting her experiences as a woman of color in an industry dominated by white men. She will offer insights and counsel for achieving your professional goals in the face of obstacles encountered by women of color. Ms. Pool-Eckert will answer questions from WOC members as well.

Marquita Pool-Eckert

Marquita Pool-Eckert

Marquita Pool-Eckert is a former senior producer for CBS News Sunday Morning and producer for CBS Evening News. Over the course of her career, she received 11 National Emmy® Awards for her work. She worked in 15 countries, covering the wars in the Middle East, famine in Ethiopia and Sudan, political campaigns, the domestic economy, arts and major breaking news events. Pool-Eckert is co-author of Inside the Upheaval of Journalism: Reporters Look Back On 50 Years Of Covering the News. She is a member of the New York Women in Film and Television Advisory Board and co-chair emeritus of The Friends of Education of the Museum of Modern Art. Pool-Eckert sat on the Board of Jurors for the George Foster Peabody Awards. She taught as an adjunct professor of broadcast journalism at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, Hunter College, CUNY and the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism. Pool-Eckert received her BA from Boston University and MS from Columbia Graduate School of Journalism.
