Dr. Solange Charas
Dr. Charas is the Founder and CEO of HC Moneyball, and a Professor of Practice in the Masters of Human Capital Management program at Columbia University. She is a governance researcher and thought-leader in use of human capital analytics.
Solange focuses on data analytics to quantify the material (financial) impact of human capital on corporate performance and understand the effectiveness of human capital programs in generating HCROI. She serves on the ISO TC-260 committee responsible for global human capital standards. She is also a board director at The Conference Board, Ezra Coaching, and the WorldatWork Editorial board.
Her scholarship and expertise have led to her being published and cited an over 300 publications including more than 70 academic citations. Among other publications, she has been featured in the Harvard Business Review, Forbes, Agenda Magazine, Financier Worldwide, NACD, Fast Company, USA today, LA Times, Boston Globe, and Entrepreneur Magazine. She has authored chapters in all three editions of the Handbook for Board Governance and The Team Coaching Case Book. Dr. Charas’ notable book Humanizing Human Capital: Invest in Your People for Optimal Business Returns was published in September 2022 and she is currently working on two books.
She earned a PhD in Management (focused on Board Governance) from Case Western Reserve University, an MBA in Accounting and Finance from Cornell University’s Johnson Graduate School of Management, and a BA in International Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
